Types of regging

There are several basic categories of regging:

• Cel-to-cel regging, where the artwork involved are line drawings.

An example of this would be a snake that is wrapped around a man:

• Cel-to-overlay regging, where the artwork involved is a line drawing, and an overlay.

An example of this would be a monkey that is jumping through an overlay of a hoop:

• Cel-to-background regging, the artwork involved is a line drawing, and a background.

An example of this would be an elephant that is advancing through an entrance in a painted background:
